  • "Sensei Austen Hansen is a very kind and caring man. This is reflected in his Judo. He is very well rounded, eclectic, and open minded. He is an exemplar for the judo community, a great judoka, and a great man."

  • "I, along with my wife and young daughter and son, have been members of Reflection Jiujitsu since it opened. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, professional, and are invested in our progress. The atmosphere is welcoming and has always felt like a safe space for my family to train and grow together. It has truly been a place of “community” for us and has become an integral part of our journey. Thanks so much to Ben and Austin for all they do!"

  • "When people look at a black belt, they look at an individual who has attained a rank in what many would consider the most difficult of art forms. One area that is often overlooked when we view the belt system, is the individual’s ability to teach and instruct students, and I believe this is where many fall short on their path to receiving a black belt and achieving the title of “Professor”. Over the course of my time spent on the mats training there have only been a handful of instructors that have stood out above the rest, and one of these people, would be a good friend of mine, Benjamin Gumpert. He is a person who is driven by knowledge and the process of constantly learning, with the ability to explain the how’s and why’s of everything that he teaches on the mats. He is dedicated to building a community and putting the needs and well-being of his students before his own."
